The Senate's Legal Committee on Wednesday approved the 2022 elections law as passed by the Lower House.
The law aims to modernize the political system, increase the active participation of youth and women especially in the electoral process, enable political parties to form blocs or electoral groupings to elect a lower house that represents the segments of society, and to lay out the procedures for the electoral process under the Independent Election Commission.
